Our Instructors

Our Instructors have spent many years devoted to learning as well as  training in the arts of Karate and Kobudo.  Through college study, vocational study, certification and tournament level competition, our staff have extensive experience and have attained a level of mastery in the traditional Japanese martial arts, health and wellness.  We enjoy sharing this knowledge and passing on these skills to our students. Sensei Pat Pusateri
Sensei Pat Pusateri; 4th Dan Black Belt-Shotokan Karate, ATKA Dojo -Cho since '95. Began Karate in Chicago '78, teaching since '88. Lic.RN since '83, Certifications: CPR, AED, ACLS, First Aid, & Martial Art Instruction, Mental Health & Wellness Certified

Senpai Amy Blackwell; NiDan Black Belt Shotokan Karate, ShoDan Black Belt Kobudo, 1st Kyu Iado (sword). Nat'l Team Coach '08,'09, '10. Certifications: SKIF, Early Childhood Ed, Occup. Therapy Aid, Martial Arts Instruction, ASEP, CPR, AED, First Aid

Senpai Chris Szewczyk
Senpai Chris Szewczyk; Ni Dan Black Belt Shotokan Karate - SKIF Certified Okinawan Kobudo 4th Kyu Shotokan Karate Assistant Instructor Okinawan Kobudo Assistant instructor. Graduate of Roosevelt University - CPR, AED & First Aid Certified.

Senpai Kenji Horibe
Senpai Kenji Horibe - Ni Dan (second degree black belt) Shotokan Karate, SKIF certified, CPR Certified, Associate Degree Science, AAU National Karate Champion and more.

Senpai Michael Meier
Senpai Michael Meier 2nd Dan Shotokan Karate SKIF Certified. He began karate training 2000, became a Jr Leader then was promoted to Asst. Karate Instructor . Certified in EMT, CPR, AED & First Aid.
